I
started freelance nonfiction writing in 1982 and by 1984 was doing
it full-time. Since then
I've done more than a thousand magazine articles (and I gave up counting
some years back). I worked for ten years as a stringer for Reuters, covering
the entire west coast of Florida for them. I've done a few books and
chapters in other books. I've done all sorts of PR and advertorial
work. I've edited two magazine and been a department editor for two
others. I have yet to write a restaurant menu but, if the pay is right,
give me a call. |
I do this for a living. If you call with an idea or assignment, be prepared
to discuss pay, rights you wish to own, deadlines, any contacts you think
I need to use, photography or artwork needs, any special layout needs,
length and tone.
Areas of expertise and tone/voice: I usually resist being pigeonholed
and, as a longtime freelance journalist, can write about almost any topic
if
I
can find the
right people to interview. As you can see from the samples on this web
site, I run the gamut from humor to darkly serious, from frothy to very
technical. |
